Lebron, Cavs – Tie (3-3) or Die (2-4) in Game 6 2015 NBA Finals

The Cleveland Cavaliers play their last home game for the 2015 NBA season. A loss would give the Championship Trophy to the Golden State Warriors. A victory would send the Finals Series to Game 7 (to be played in Oakland, Warriors home court) in this best of 7 Series. Playing before the home crowd should give the exhausted, fatigued, injured and decimated Cavaliers that much-needed morale boost which could propel them to a Game 6 victory. Game 7 (if it comes to that) would give the Warriors the chance to win the 2015 NBA Championship in front of their screaming fans (of course, they want to end the Series in Game 6, winning Game 7 would just be a more memorable win). Would Game 6 be the last stand of Lebron James and the Cavaliers? Can a legitimate superstar in the person of James carry his team to victory in Game 6 and win again in Game 7? The odds are heavily against Cleveland. They were the underdogs when the Series began, then seized the initiative when the

y went ahead 2 -1, lost the initiative when the Warriors tied at 2 -2 and are now looking at losing the Championship. The Cavs need two victories to salvage their season, today they gun for one. Winning Game 6 for the Cavs would stretch the Series to its maximum of 7 games. Concentrate. Focus. Execute. Lebron, just win one for the Cavaliers fans. Live for today. Survive. Fight. Win. Game 7 awaits. The trophy can only go to the team that wants it more.

Supreme Court issues TRO for Rizal Monument photobomber

The Supreme Court today issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) in the construction of the DMCI Torre de Manila. The said massive building obstructs the line of sight of the Rizal Monument, a favorite among local and international tourists, in the Luneta Park. Jose Rizal is the Philippine national hero. He was executed by gunfire by Spanish authorities in the late 1800s. Spain colonized the Philippines for more than 300 years. DMCI is the corporation of David M. Consunji and a top real estate developer in the Philippines. The real test in this historical case is whether the building would be ordered demolished (and actually destroyed) should DMCI lose the case with finality. At a minimum, the structure should not benefit from any economic activity (meaning no occupants, no condominium sales,

no leases and no rental income) while the case drags in the courts for years.

Lebron James, Cavaliers – Backs to the wall, back to home court

Lebron James is on his 5th straight trip to the NBA Finals. He lost two and won two Championship trophies for Miami Heat. This year he is back to the NBA Finals, this time with his old team, the Cavaliers. With The Cavs now trailing the Warriors, 2  – 3, in a best-of-seven format, Lebron and the Cavs are one game away from losing the 2015 NBA Championship. Admittedly Stephen Curry, NBA regular season MVP and Warriors leader, had a spectacular Game 5 which would be difficult to replicate. On the other hand, by needing only one more game to win the Championship, once they get ahead of the Cavs in the 3rd or 4th quarter of Game 6, the Cavs could very well collapse and yield the trophy to the Warriors. For the Cavaliers to grab the 2015 NBA Championship, they need to win two consecutive games, Game 6 at home and Game 7 in Oakland, Warriors home court. Anyway, it goes without saying that Lebron James would need to win ONE GAME AT A TIME. Playing at home for Game 6 at least gives them the home advantage. Whether they can win Game 7 (if they reach that stage) or not is another matter. They should simply play their hearts out to give the Cavalier fans the best game the fans have ever seen in their lives. Should the Cavs win Game 6, Lebron would be having a slight advantage over the Warriors, coming from a win. Whether this morale boost is enough to offset the Game 7 Warriors home court advantage is something else. Anyway, even for just the NBA fans enjoying this Series longer, we are hoping for a Cavaliers win in Game 6, so as to extend the Series to Game 7.

Jurassic World just took a massive bite out of the box office, making movie history by grossing $511.8 million worldwide in its opening weekend.

The latest installment of Steven Spielberg’s iconic franchise is the first film ever to open with more than $500 million in ticket sales in one weekend. It’s also only the second film in U.S. history to open with more than $200 million in ticket sales nationally, after The Avengers.

Universal Pictures and Legendary co-financed the $150 million, PG-13-rated film, which was directed by Colin Trevorrow and executive produced by Spielberg.

This is the third time Jurassic World star Chris Pratt has seen blockbuster success. He also also starred in the 2014 box office hits Guardians of the Galaxy and The Lego Movie.

Internationally, Jurassic World is the highest-grossing opening for any film in 2015, as well as the biggest opening of all films in the Jurassic Park franchise.

Practical Health Tips: Eat your way to naturally glowing skin

The key to naturally glowing skin isn’t waiting in the aisles at Sephora, it’s waiting in the aisles of your local supermarket. In addition to a thorough cleansing routine, moisturizer and some good old SPF, a balanced diet is all you need for #nofilter skin.

Certain foods and liquids are more likely than others to promote healthy, glowing skin, so we turned to beauty nutritionist Paula Simpson for a bit of guidance.

Hydration

strawberries
Raw strawberries are high in water content.

Skin is the largest organ of the human body — it’s important to keep it properly hydrated. And while moisturizers certainly do their part in plumping skin, hydrating from within is just as important.

“If you are dehydrated, your skin will show it,” Simpson says. So, in addition to drinking water consistently throughout the day, Simpson recommends a diet rich in raw, in-season produce with high water content.

Her picks:

  • Dark leafy greens
  • Cucumbers
  • Strawberries
  • Watermelon
  • Pineapple
  • Fats

    salmon
Salmon is a good source of Omega-3 fatty acids.

Fatty acids help skin cells maintain moisture and protect skin from environmental factors, Simpson says. Diets should be rich in Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acid, two essential fats that the human body cannot produce on its own.

“Typically the North American diet is over abundant in Omega-6 fatty acids,” says Simpson.

By focusing on balanced foods, which contain healthy oils, you can bring back skin’s natural glow.

    Her picks:

  • Fatty fish (such as salmon)
  • A tablespoon of oil (olive, hempseed, grapeseed and flaxseed oils are good options)
  • Handfuls of flax seeds, chia seeds or walnuts added to cereals, oatmeals or smoothies
  • Avocados
  • Ceramide, a lipid that’s synthesized by skin cells, is also essential for locking in moisture and promoting a youthful, dewy complexion.

“The outer layer of skin (epidermis) contains ceramides that attract and hold onto water molecules to retain skin moisture,” says Simpson. “Plant-based ceramides can be found in the fibrous content in grains such brown rice and wheat germ.”

    Antioxidants

    paprika
    Paprika is rich in antioxidants.

Simpson recommends foods high in antioxidants that may protect from environmental stressors like ultraviolet rays and pollutants, which she says make skin “more vulnerable to unstable free radical molecules (or reactive oxygen species; ‘ROS’) from that break down proteins (collagen,) disrupt cellular renewal, damage DNA, and stimulate inflammatory reactions.”

Foods and spices rich in antioxidants include those that contain carotenoids, theyellow and red pigments naturally synthesized by plants, and which Simpson explains are only obtainable through diet or supplements.

“Paprika is rich in antioxidants, including vitamin C and four carotenoids: beta-cryptoxanthin, beta-carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin,” she says. These, she adds, may function as antioxidants “that help prevent cellular damage that can lead to chronic health problems.”

Other foods rich in antioxidants include citrus fruits that contain vitamin C, which may help amino acids convert into collagen, and may help neutralize free radicals. It’s these free radicals that Simpson says break down skin’s collagen and elastin.

    Her picks:

  • Oranges
  • Limes
  • Lemons
  • Grapefruits
  • Blackberries
  • Raspberries
  • Skin-firming foods

    eggs
Eggs help boost collagen, Simpson says.

Firm skin relies heavily on collagen, the main structural protein found in our connective tissues.

“As we age, the natural weakening in cellular activity and increase in environmental stressors break down this structural framework, resulting in loose, thin and frail skin,” Simpson says.

To combat weakening, foods rich in mineral copper may help facilitate collagen production, as do foods high in vitamin C.

    Her diet picks:

  • Poultry
  • Eggs (specifically egg whites)
  • Cod
  • Crab
  • Lobster
  • Oysters
  • Bell peppers
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Almonds
  • Raisins
  • Aduki beans
  • Kidney beans
  • Soybeans
  • Chickpeas
  • Seaweed
  • DZMM Issues an APOLOGY to Cebu Pacific for IMAGINARY Airliner crash story

DZMM TeleRadyo issued an APOLOGY to Cebu Pacific aired over radio and television. The problem stemmed from a BREAKING NEWS story of an airliner crash in Barangay Esperanza in Sultan Kudarat province, Mindanao island. The report identified commercial airliner Cebu Pacific and indicated the flight path, Manila to General Santos City. The probable site of the crash was also specified as mentioned above. The Civil Aviation Authority denied the story and stated that commercial airliners were all accounted for. A few hours later, Cebu Pacific also issued a NO AIRLINER CRASH of its aircraft press release.

This is a CLASSIC EXAMPLE of IRRESPONSIBLE NEWS REPORTING as the concerned CAAP and Cebu Pacific officials were available for validation and confirmation of the story. Had DZMM withheld the release of the BREAKING NEWS by a few minutes, they could have contacted regulatory (CAAP) and corporate (Cebu Pacific) officials to CONFIRM or DENY the story. A confirmation would have cleared the story for airing while a denial would have called for further investigation and clarity on the supposed airliner crash (which turned out to be figment of the imagination).

With DZMM issuing an apology to Cebu Pacific, the public now DEMANDS to know

DZMM announced a Cebu Pacific airliner crash which never happened, a black eye in Philippine broadcasting history.

DZMM reported a Cebu Pacific airliner crash which never happened, a black eye in Philippine broadcasting history.

how the story was hatched, developed and ultimately aired. At a minimum, HEADS should roll in the DZMM news room.

    Warriors Take Game 5 with 104 – 91 Win, Leads Series 3 – 2

    Game 5 – early 4th quarter 75 – 72 Warriors, end of 3rd Quarter 73 – 69 Warriors,

Warriors up 51 – 50 at the end of the 1st half. 2015 NBA Finals Game 5.

WARRIORS AND CAVALIERS GO FOR CRUCIAL GAME 5 2015 NBA FINALS WIN

With the NBA 2015 Finals Series tied at 2 – 2, both favored Golden State Warriors and underdog Cleveland Cavaliers would attempt to seize the all-important one game lead that goes to the winner of Game 5. Golden State would be playing in Oakland, California which therefore gives them the home court advantage. Golden State lost Game 2 at home while Cleveland also lost at home in Game 4 so that as far as this particular Championship Series is concerned, and up to this point, the home court advantage is more potential than actual. A relatively healthy Warriors team led by season MVP Stephen Curry would be facing the decimated, injured and fatigued Cavaliers with super star Lebron James who played brilliantly in the first three games but lacked focus in Game 4 after sustaining a head injury (falling into a video/television camera). On the tactical side of the game, the Warriors would probably resort to a running game that gave them the huge lead in Game 4 since this would take advantage of their speed and capitalize on the Cavalier exhaustion factor. The Cavaliers would resort to a more deliberate approach (because their big men are more prone to get tired earlier) although their only play is to give the ball to Lebron and get out of the way (isolation play). As the proverbial saying goes, “The ball is round”, which means all predictions are thrown out of the window once the ball is tossed in the opening jump ball. There would be likely heroes today in the persons of Curry and James but there should be others too that would have to step up to grab the all-important one game lead.
