Lagpas 24 na oras na ang pagtitipon ng mga kasapi ng Iglesia Ni Cristo sa opisina ng Department of Justice sa Padre Faura, Maynila. Mula ng mass acton kahapon ng hapon, nagpalipas ng gabi ang mga nagpoprotesta at hindi pa rin lumilisan. Bilang patunay na tatagal pa sila sa lugar, nakakuha sila ng rally permit mula sa Lungsod Maynila na hanggang September 4, 2015 o isang linggo mula ngayon. 4,000 ang bilang ng nasa Padre Faura ngayon. Samantala, may ilang daang kapatid ng INC ang nasa mga mall sa tabi ng People Power Monument at EDSA Shrine. Sumusuporta daw sila sa mga nasa Padre Faura. Makasaysayan ang EDSA Shrine sapagkat ito ang naging sentro ng EDSA1 at EDSA2 People Power Revolution na naging sanhi ng pagbagsak ng Pamahalaang Marcos nuong 1986 at ng Pamahalaang Estrada nuong 2001. Nagkaroon din ng pagtangkang EDSA3 nuong 2001 bilang suporta sa napatalsik na Presidente Estrada ngunit hindi nagtagumpay ang pagkilos at hindi naibalik sa pagkaluklok si Erap.

Maliwanag na dahil papasok ang Pilipinas sa isang long weekend, sapagkat holiday ang Lunes, hindi madali mangakit ng sasali sa kilos protesta. Makikita dito ang dami, lakas at disiplina ng Iglesia Ni Cristo kung kakayanin nilang makalagpas ng Sabado, Linggo at Lunes na lalo pang dumarami. Sa papasok na Linggo, umaasa naman ang Iglesia ni Cristo na may sasali sa kamilang protesta mula sa hanay ng hindi nila kasamahan sa INC. Ang mga pwersang maaring umanib sa protesta ay ang Simbahang Katolika o/at ang El Shaddai na pinamumunuan ni Brother Mike Velarde. Masama ang loob ng Simbahang Katolika dahil sa pagpasa ng Reproductive Health Bill na pinaniniwalaan ng mga saradong Katoliko na labag sa Batas ng Diyos. Si Mike Velarde naman ay malapit sa pamunuan ng Iglesia ni Cristo at pamilyang Manalo.

Umaasa rin ang Iglesia Ni Cristo na kapag lumawak ang partisipasyon ng mga mamamayan sa protestang INC, sasali rin ang mga tinatawag na political opposition kasama na ang mga tauhan ng mga dating Pangulong Estrada at Macapagal Arroyo. Aanyayahan din lumahok ang mga matinding kalaban ng Pamahalaang Aquino na nasa grupo ng mga makakaliwa. Kagaya ng dalawang nagtagumpay na People Power ang huling elemento na makakapagpabagsak ng kasalukuyang pamahalaan ay manggagaling mismo sa hanay ng gobyerno kung saan sa Armed Forces of the Philippines nagumpisa ang EDSA1 at kung saan naman nagtapos ang EDS2. Ngayon, ang grupong may tinatagong matinding galit laban sa pamahalaan ay nasa ilalim mismo ng ilong ni DILG Secretary Mar Roxas. Ito ay ang Philippine National Police o PNP na na under sa DILG kung saan si Roxas ang pinuno. Masama ang loob ng PNP dahil sa kapalpakan sa nangyaring trahedya sa SAF 44. Matapos namatayan ang PNP, hindi pa sila nabigyan ng parangal sa State of the Nation Address 2015. Hindi pa nagtapos sa deadma ang SAF 44, tnanggal pa ang mural nila sa sarili nilang kampo. Tapos nito, inalis pa sa listahan ng mga paparangalan ng PNP ang mga bayaning SAF.

Trillanes ready to be probed

“I would welcome whoever will file the charges,” Trillanes told journalists, after the camp of Vice President Jejomar Binay urged the Senate ethics committee to investigate his hiring of consultants.

“The use of public funds for his personal benefit is clearly unethical, immoral and a blatant abuse of his office,” said Rico Quicho, Binay’s spokesman for political affairs. “The taxpayers are paying for his household expenses and his personal ‘debts’.”

“Even his houseboy was included among his consultants. He should stop moralizing and pontificating since the more he talks, the more he is exposed as a hypocrite. We are sure he will again blame the opposition for the exposé. But we did not invent the Senate documents. The senator should explain before he complains,” Quicho added.

Trillanes on Monday accused Binay of being behind the “demolition job” against him and said his office’s consultancy fees were declared “authorized and legal” by the Commission on Audit (COA).

He also insisted that he had committed no irregularity in paying consultancy fees to persons who helped him discharge his duties as a senator.

He admitted that a large chunk of his office expenses in 2014 went to intelligence gathering by his consultants, who included his colleagues at the Magdalo group.

“Of course, you will not hire consultants whom you do not trust,” he said.

These were the people he used to gather information and evidence used in the Senate Blue Ribbon hearings on the corruption charges against Binay and his family.

He earlier said he hired his brother as a consultant because he represents him in confidential meetings that he is unable to attend.

Trillanes also said he has received no notice of disallowance from COA.

“All we’re doing is authorized and legal based on the guidelines provided by COA,” he said.

He said that  the senators sat with auditors and asked what mistakes were made and how these might be remedied.

“But COA said there was nothing illegal or unauthorized in what we are doing because we were given the discretion on how to spend our budget,” he said.

He said he can answer point by point all the allegations being made against him in connection with his consultants.

“The bottom line here is I did not steal government funds. I did  not abuse my position,” he said.

He also denied allegations that he had a household help being paid with funds from the Senate.

He said the names mentioned in the Senate report were confidential agents that he used in the ongoing investigation of the Vice President.

“That’s not true. Definitely, there’s no such thing and I don’t give that low pay—P3,500 a month to my kasambahay (househodl help),” he said.

He also denied that he allocated more than half of his office’s budget to consultancy fees.

“The point here is we are spending the funds where we believe they’re needed,” Trillanes said.

The former mutineer said he was “prepared for everything” and was ready to answer all the charges being raised against him.

Trillanes has led the Senate investigation against Binay, and has held 23 hearings on the ongoing probe.

Trillanes also said the Binay camp should not be the one to suggest an ethics investigation against him, because “they have no balls.”

“They have no balls to face the Senate investigation,” he said, referring to Binay’s refusal to appear before the Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee investigating him. “Vice President Binay has no balls. He’s courageous in operating, but when it’s face-to-face, he’s nothing,” Trillanes said.

But Quicho challenged Trillanes to explain how doing housework or being a family driver was considered confidential.

“It appears that Senator Trillanes took the concept of the Senate as one of two houses of Congress literally,” Quicho said. “He apparently got his budget for his house from the Upper House, also known as the Senate.”

He also scored Trillanes for using Senate funds to reward two people—Robert Fong and Fabian Go– who contributed P500,000 each to his campaign in 2013.

During the Yolanda crisis, a local businessman complained about the lawlessness and lack of adequate and timely response from the government, President Aquino commented “Eh buhay ka pa, diba?”  (“You are still alive, aren’t you?”) as if to say that there is no basis for the observation and complaint inasmuch as the complainant is still alive. Well this year, the businessman, who choose to stay behind to help rebuild his town, died. DILG Secretary and Liberal Party standard bearer for the 2016 Presidential elections Mar Roxas was caught on camera, in a video that went viral, berating the local town mayor and saying “Bahala kayo sa buhay nyo” (“Take care of your own selves.”) when it was obvious the devastated areas did not have the resources to feed and shelter themselves which was precisely why they needed massive assistance from the national government. Now here comes the Liberal Party President and Transportation Secretary Abaya saying that monumental traffic jams are not fatal.

Today is the birthday of the late Fernando Poe Jr., popularly known as FPJ and Da King (the King of Filipino Movies). The movie star ran for President of the Philippines in 2004 against then incumbent President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in a highly controversial national elections. GMA is widely believed to have CHEATED FPJ of the Presidency using operatives of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) thru Comelec Commissioner Garcillano (“Hello Garci”). A wiretapped recording of the infamous conversation was leaked to the public with GMA producing a supposed “genuine” copy of the phone conversation as opposed to the REAL THING which her spokesperson branded as a fake. GMA later apologized (“I am sorry”) in a prime-time nationally televised broadcast. FPJ took his loss heavily and the campaign, elections and subsequent protest actions may have cost him his life. Today, we are again on the crossroads of history as his daughter, now Senator Grace Poe, who topped the senatorial elections in 2013, may embark on her own Presidential campaign for 2016.
