The People’s Republic of Vietnam is the world”s major exporter of PORNOGRAPHY. Using social media, Vietnamese hackers and programmers are creating, distributing and causing the massive proliferation of PORNOGRAPHIC material through the Internet, mainly in Facebook. Unwitting Facebook members are enticed by sexy video links that in turn “capture” the victims’ Facebook accounts causing the sending out of the lewd messages thus replicating the virus by distributing the triple-X material to their Facebook friends. Some of the messages are even made to appear as if they originated from the Philippines although most Filipinos can discern the foreign origin of the text due to the FRACTURED TAGALOG USAGE (obviously caused by using translation services that are more literal than linguistically correct).
There is no indication that this cyber porno attack is state sponsored (the government of Vietnam, that is) but it is disconcerting for Vietnamese netizens to target the Philippines (probably because Facebook is banned in China, which is their historical enemy). It is also sad that Vietnam has a glorious military history having defeated their colonizer France and foreign invader United States in wars that left their country in ruins for decades. Now that Vietnam is back on its feet and achieving spectacular economic gains, we see no reason for this cyber display of arrogance. The Philippines should request its telecoms and local branch of Facebook to filter cyber traffic from Vietnam as a fisrt step to stopping these attacks against the very moral

fiber of the Filipino people. It is no secret that the Filipino youth, predominantly males, are in their formative years and thus are very sensitive to the encroachment and corrosive effects of PORNOGRAPHIC materials on thier young minds.
